Some services provided are not covered under our contract with the NHS and therefore attract charges.
Examples may include medicals for offshore, insurance reports, HGV etc.
These are all carried out in specialist clinics and undertaken by the doctors. A fee maybe payable and these appointments can be booked in by ringing our medical centre and pressing 6.
You will then be transferred to one of our team who will book an appointment. If no one is available please leave a message with your name, telephone number and request and someone will get back to you.
The fees charged are based on the British Medical Association (BMA) suggested scales, and our reception staff will be happy to advise you about them along with appointment availability.
Travel Vaccinations
If you require any vaccinations relating to foreign travel you will need to fill in a form detailing where you are travelling (including the country and area/town/region) and when you are travelling. This form is passed to the nurse, and you will then have to contact the surgery seven days later to check whether you need to book in for any vaccinations. To ensure adequate protection, it is advised to have all immunisations at least eight weeks before travel.

There maybe an admin charge applied for your travel vaccinations, this will be made available to you once your form has been submitted and checked. Please note we only except cash, aBacs payment can be made in advance of vaccination.

Travelling in Europe
If you are travelling to Europe the EU has published useful information for travellers on the European website.
Dr Afzal and Dr Ahmed carry out Minor Surgery Injections by appointment. Please discuss this with a doctor at your next convenient appointment.
Contraception care is provided by all doctors and nurses during normal surgery hours. Doctors within the practice insert I.U.D.s and contraception implants. Please be aware that you may be put on a short waiting list to have a coil or implant fitted.
Long-term complications of diabetes are minimised or avoided by good diabetic care and control. Diabetic clinics are by appointment only and are run by our specially trained nurses.
It is important that our diabetic patients attend for regular review appointments.
We offer asthma review appointments with a Healthcare Assistant or Practice Nurse. It is very important that patients are reviewed regularly to discuss any problems they may have and to optimise treatment. Asthma treatment is constantly advancing. We aim to keep you up to date, improve your understanding and minimise the affect your asthma has on you. We strongly recommend all patients with asthma should attend at least annually. Please be aware that if you try to order inhalers but are not up-to-date with your asthma reviews, the Practice Nurse may not issue the inhalers until you have been reviewed.
Wednesday 13:15 – 14:30
A weekly immunisation programme is run by a Practice Nurse for all baby and pre-school immunisations. First immunisations are given at six to eight weeks old and the doctor will also conduct child development checks at this time. This clinic is by appointment only.
A well baby clinic is run by health visitors, who check your baby’s weight etc., and give you an opportunity to discuss other problems (such as sleeping, feeding and child health worries). This clinic is no longer run at the surgery but can be attended at Spires centre, 600 East bank road between 1-3pm.
Midwife clinic at the practice are by appointment only, this clinic is normally a Wednesday between 9:00 – 15:00, your first initial appointment with the midwife (which you will need to book 8 weeks after conformation of pregnancy) will be an hour long and all follow up appointments 15mins.
